Literat International

Welcome! We are Literat International. We were added as an extension of the German Literat organization in 2023. Since then, we have gained participants spread across three continents! 

We meet about every other month online and discuss a selected book. Our book discussions usually last an hour and a half and take place via Zoom. 

We would love for you to join us! You can find the latest dates and events here. Everyone is welcome to participate, even if you haven't read (or finished) the book. Registration via email / contact form.

Spring 2026 Books

Finding the books we read each term is a democratic decision with several steps. 

  1. First, we nominate categories and vote on those. 
  2. Then, we nominate books for each category. 
  3. Finally, we vote on the books, and the winners are the ones we read and discuss.

 For the spring 2026 Literat International landed on:

  • Magical realism - The Underground Railroad 
  • Previously nominated - 1984
